Can you believe it’s already the end of Pride Month? That’s JULY ALREADY. It’s Heather here today (hstewart@visionachievement.uk or HeatherStewart_VA on Instagram) and I wanted to discuss a little why as a company we need to address Pride Month.
It’s the time of the year when rainbows take centre stage, and love, acceptance, and equality are in the air. At Vision Achievement, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate and show our unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Pride Month is a vibrant and empowering time when people from all walks of life come together to honour and embrace diversity. It’s not just about colourful parades and parties (although those are definitely a blast!); it’s a profound celebration of love, identity, and acceptance.
As a business that values inclusivity and equality, we believe in creating an environment where everyone feels respected, heard, and celebrated. We’re not just waving rainbow flags; we’re committed to making a positive impact, both within our organisation and in the communities we serve. I, personally, are also really looking forward to attending Newcastle’s Northern Pride event next month too.
So, why is Pride Month so important to us? Well, it’s a fantastic opportunity to recognise and acknowledge the struggles, achievements, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history. As our Academy focuses on education, it’s a great time to remember we wouldn’t be where we are today without notable LGBTQ+ figures throughout history who have made great contributions to science, maths, English, and to fighting towards equal education opportunities, even realising that many historical figures you will know were part of the LGBTQ+ community! Pride is about standing shoulder to shoulder with our LGBTQ+ friends, family members, and colleagues, and saying, “We see you, we support you, and we’re here for you.” At Vision Achievement, we believe that diversity is our greatest strength.
