Education Explored

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ilinka and you can find me on Instagram: @ilinkabeckles_va or Twitter: @ilinkabecklesva

Do you wonder about education and going back into it, no matter your age? Thinking about this and what. I have learnt about education, I thought I would share all about it in this blog.

To start simply – Education is a purposeful activity directed at achieving certain aims, such as transmitting knowledge or fostering skills and character traits. These aims may include the development of understanding, rationality, kindness, and honesty.

I believe we never stop learning, we are always making progress within ourselves and in the world we live in. When I was younger I believed education was one, I was yet to learn that there is three types of education:

  1. Formal Education – Formal education is school, institutional settings such as college, sixth form, school. This usually requires people to wear uniform, it is full time. You can get certification or degrees from this type of education.
  2. Informal Education – This is practical adult learning, regarding adult life. This is through real life experiences, such as getting job roles, real life experiences, mobilises local resources, including diversity in methods and content.
  3. Non-Formal Education – This is learning from experiences, from home, from environments you are in, learning from a workplace, this education type is a long process as it is continuous.

The best thing about education in the UK is Primary and Secondary Schools, and the majority of UK colleges are provided for free under Government Funding. Education is continuous and happens even when we do not realise that we are learning. Learning and development through education positively affects society, our country and is generational so the majority that can be passed on from generation to generation, which means our future looks brighter each year that comes.

Education has no age limit for participants/learners. I know personally my own mother decided she would do her GCSE Maths and English at the wonderful age of 36. A year later she then went to University to study History and gained her BA Honours Degree at the age of 42 whilst raising two children – This is a pure example of being able to start learning, and achieve what you want to in education.

We specialise in encouraging you to get reach the goals you want to reach, that be a career change, developing within your role then we want to help in any way we can. Email, or contact myself directly as I would love to hear your stories/experiences with learning and education.

Have a great weekend and as always if you have any questions about the Academy you can message us on our website, via social media or email socials@visionachievement.uk. Have a fantastic weekend and keep taking every opportunity to grow and learn.

Take care,

Ilinka
